Vidde is spun from a blend of soft white Norwegian lambswool and grey Norsk Pelssau breed. This gives the yarn slightly melange colors after dying. This yarn is loosely spun and has good elasticity, retains its shape well. Vidde can be combined with Luna, which is the same weight and length.

Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk has placed an increased environmental focus on the use of dyes in their production. Only GOTS-approved dyes are used for Vidde yarn. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) requires dyes to be biodegradable and non-toxic. The finished product cannot contain allergens or residues of dangerous chemicals. GOTS-approved dye is permitted in the organic production of yarn and textiles.
